Grains, hops, yeast, and water are simple ingredients that come together to form a drink that has withstood time and age. For hundreds of years people have come to brew and perfect the art of beer, so much so that everywhere you look new craft beers and breweries are pushing its way through the community. Beer is a communal experience that draws people together and opens a door to conversations, so that when beer talks people listen. For my body of work I am creating art pieces that revolve around beer and the communal experience it is. My work will speak to different social issues and topics, to open conversations, and explore communal connections to what we drink. Beer is not about getting drunk, it has become a product that people really invest themselves in. Beer brands can make real and meaningful connections to the people that drink it and that is what my work will convey.
