Every Journey is a Story to Tell

As an international student, I went through a 4-year college life in a different perspective. I struggled, I fought, I tried, I challenged. From Education major, to Art major, from a role as future teacher, to an artistic storyteller. In a place where I’m considered as minority, the loneliness and the importance of companionship seems matter more than ever. I want to illustrate some of the important moments, stories during the time at Butler University, put them together as an animated slideshow with music. I want this to be a good story to be accessed, heard, seen by more audiences. As an Asian, a Chinese, sometimes I felt my voice wasn’t strong enough to be noticed, but that won’t bother me to try. Art, with its unique form, could let people receive the message despite of language barrier and different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
In this body of work, I will illustrate the story digitally and use Adobe Premiere accompany with music to enhance the idea of “simply tell a story.”
If people could stop just for few minutes to pay attention, it will make a big difference. And story will have the power to do this.
