Comparative Growth Rates of Lepisosteus platyrhincus

My experiment is a comparative analysis of growth rates of Lepisosteus platyrhincus over a period of 4 months. In this presentation, I will discuss my materials and methods for my experiment . Two gars will be placed into two separate aquariums and will receive two different feeding frequencies. The gar in tank A will receive a feeding frequency of 6 Rosy red minnows (rosies) every week and the second gar in tank B will receive 12 rosies every two weeks. My hypothesis is that the gar fed 12 rosies every two weeks will show a greater percent growth because this specific gar will be able to shut down its metabolism in between feedings, thus conserving energy. Over the course of 13 weeks, the gar receiving 12 rosies every other week grew 103.1 % of its original body weight. The second gar that was fed 6 rosies every week grew 9.82 % of its original body weight.
