College alumni are one of the major influencers of the institution’s current and future success. The researchers sought to better understand the current engagement of Franklin College alumni in order to give recommendations to the college’s Office of Alumni Engagement. The Franklin College Alumni Survey collected data from past graduates of the college regarding their engagement with the school with a survey that was sent electronically via email. The study uses a sample of 1,276 to gage the current involvement and attitudes of the school’s alumni. Results indicated that the majority of alumni stayed in touch with the college because of friendships cultivated there, as well as social events such as homecoming. Age was found to be an important factor that affects the wishes and engagement of alumni, which can have a significant impact on the school’s relationships with its constituents. Based on the data, several recommendations can be made for not only Franklin College, but other small liberal arts colleges, as well.
