10. Topology: It's Knotty and Nice

We investigate compressing disks for the bridge spheres of a certain family of plat links and determine conditions under which two compressing disks on opposite sides of the bridge sphere must intersect each other or may be made disjoint. In addition, we illustrate a decomposition of compressing disks into a band sum of hemicaps: compressing disks which are hemisphere-shaped and separate exactly one bridge from all the others.
